5 Perfect Destinations to Take Your RV This Spring

Spring is so close we can taste it, making us yearn for the open road and adventurous, memory-building destinations that allow us to let loose our inner-trailblazer. All signs are pointing to a Spring RV excursion! And to get rolling, we’ve compiled a list of some of our favorite destinations that are ideal for both the daring and not so daring RV adventurers.

  1. Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

Yellowstone has five campgrounds that allow RVs, and each one offers a glorious setting in which to indulge in some wilderness revelry. While four of the campgrounds open in mid to late May, the Madison Campground, which is the RV area located closest to Old Faithful and the Upper, Midway and Lower Geyser Basins, opens April 27th.

  1. Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona

Did you know the Grand Canyon sees five million visitors every year? Hike along the Bright Angel Trail, take a helicopter tour, or relax on a smooth-water rafting trip on the Colorado River. The Canyon boasts several go-to destinations for RV enthusiasts, ranging from primitive to luxurious. Visit Mather Campground on the South Rim, or Kaibab Camper Village near Jacob Lake for full hookups.

  1. Redwood National Park, California

For those timber lovers out there, visiting Redwood National Park in California is a must. Spread out in a mosaic of smaller parks that span over 132,000 acres, there are numerous locations to get lost within this vast woodland oasis. Visit Fern Canyon, a filming location for Steven Spielberg’s The Lost World, or Gold Bluff’s Beach on the coast.

  1. Crater Lake National Park, Oregon

The scenery at Crater Lake is undeniably magnificent. Visit dormant volcano Mount Mazama and the pumice desert; or for a burst of color, visit the Castle Crest Wildflower Gardens. There are plenty of places to dock the RV at either the Crater Lake RV Park or Mazama Village Campground.

  1. Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia

American History comes alive in Williamsburg. With the Jamestown Settlement and the Battleground of Yorktown just a stone’s throw from the city, immersing oneself in our country’s rich history is just part of the fun. Thrill seekers can also head over to Busch Gardens for a day of roller coasters and other madcap rides sure to amuse.
