The 2025 Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) confirmed that recent trends such as biophilic design and the popularity of greens and blues in the kitchen are here to stay. We captured many of these macrotrends in our UltraFoil Collection article. Keep reading to explore other notable design details to keep an eye on below.
It was the tale of two extremes at the show, with one side favoring decadent details like knurling, face plates and oversized linear pulls and the other favoring…well, no hardware at all. We noted the increase in hidden hardware or push-to-open cabinet door designs to emphasize the beauty of the cabinet door finish without interruption.
Or the warmth, at any rate. We have to acknowledge that colors of the year (Cinnamon Slate for Benjamin Moore and Mocha Mousse for Pantone, for instance) are emphasizing warmer, darker, earthier, more saturated tones as the trend-setting tones for the year.
From merlot to chocolate, these rich tones will set the table for stunning interior design.
While cabinet profiles and moldings are seeing a turn towards minimalism, accents on other vertical spaces are emphasizing rich details that express individual style.
From maximalist patterns on backsplashes to fluted or slatwall textures on islands, today’s trends encourage designers to take risks in key spaces.
We saw more innovation on cabinet interiors than ever before, with many options offering pull-out, pull-down or rotating storage features inside cabinetry. This allows users to maximize usable storage space while still making items easy to reach. Overall we saw the concept of prioritizing functionality as a key trend for 2025.
